This helps Georgetown in several ways from higher annual tournament revenues (and probably TV revenues), to recruiting, to school spirit to overall admissions. The amazing thing is that ten years ago, the Big East was dealing with an existential crisis, likely facing an eventual extinction due to never-ending conference realignment dictated by greedy football schools.
